Houston Texans in a glance

The Houston Texans are one of the newest teams in the NFL, as they were established in 1999 and played their first game in 2002 as part of the league's expansion teams. It's worth noting that the city of Houston had lost its local team, the Houston Oilers, when they relocated to Nashville in 1997 and were renamed the Tennessee Titans. The one who brought the new team to Houston was Bob McNair, who had been denied by the Hockey Federation to create a team in the city. However, McNair didn't give up and turned to the NFL, along with Los Angeles, to compete for the creation of the league's 32nd team. In the end, he came out victorious from the process, and since 2002, the Texans have been playing in the NFL. The Texans have not achieved anything significant on the field, as they are one of the few teams that have not appeared in a Super Bowl. Their early seasons were particularly unsuccessful, and it wasn't until the 2010s that they started making appearances in the playoffs.
